Porsche Leipzig GmbH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. Since it was founded in 2000, the plant has been one of the world’s most advanced and sustainable automotive factories. A total of around 550 Macan compact SUV vehicles and Panamera sports cars saloons are currently produced at the Leipzig plant every day. 1,270 Carrera GT vehicles were also built here as a limited edition between 2003 and 2006. The Cayenne was also produced in Leipzig from 2002 to 2017. Today, the plant has a workforce of more than 4,400 employees in the Macan and Panamera body shop, paint shop and assembly as well as in administration. The plant is currently being extended for the all-electric Macan. The location is therefore getting itself ready for electromobility.
A central component of Porsche’s sustainability strategy is the path to becoming a “zero impact factory” – in other words, a production facility that leaves no ecological footprint.
Porsche is committed to Leipzig and the region. This commitment can be seen in five areas: sport, education and science, culture, environment, and social projects.
The former customer centre has been known as the Porsche Experience Centre (PEC) since 1 May 2022, officially making it one of the brand’s 10 established experience centres worldwide.
